    Academic Background

    Dr. Ochotny is a medical writer and editor with 15+ years of academic and professional experience. Using yeast as a model system, she developed and implemented a novel way to study the biochemistry of rare human bone and kidney diseases. Next, she characterized a mouse model with a rare bone disease. Her scientific expertise includes cell and molecular biology, small animal models, pharmacology, in-depth experience with microscopy, imaging techniques, and content expertise in bone and joint diseases such as arthritis, rheumatology, osteoporosis, and rare bone diseases.

    Dr. Ochotny co-authored 7 peer-reviewed publications, 3 of them as first author in journals including the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Bone, Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, and Biomedical Devices.     During her academic career, Dr. Ochotny wrote her own first-author manuscripts and over 10 abstracts that were accepted for presentation at scientific conferences. Due to the quality of her abstracts, she won several travel awards to attend scientific conferences. She wrote 6 successfully funded scholarship proposals and grants. Professionally, Dr. Ochotny has written numerous clinical manuscripts, abstracts, cover letters, response to reviewer letters, posters, slide decks, medical education materials for the sales and medical affairs staff at pharmaceutical companies, and product briefs.
