2008 - BSc 1st Class (Hons) Rural Environmental Science, University of Reading
Dr Boon’s PhD thesis was titled “Peatland Habitats and Sources and Controls on Greenhouse Gases”, and lead to two papers in leading international soil science journals. He has accumulated three years of postdoctoral research experience in the world-renowned Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading, focusing on the measurement of greenhouse gases from urban and natural environments. He has a diverse scientific background with expertise in the soil sciences, meteorological sciences, atmospheric sciences and general environmental sciences, as well as proficiency in R, Genstat and other statistical analysis software. He has considerable field experience in greenhouse gas monitoring using soil chamber, soil subsurface, eddy covariance, cavity ring-down spectroscopy and modeling approaches. He is also a keen writer and scientific communicator and has been involved in producing educational online materials on climate change.
